MHA IB Junior Intelligence Officer (JIO / Tech) 2025 Tier-I Result Out (Final Result Update)

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), through the Intelligence Bureau (IB), has officially released the Tier-I written examination result for the Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II / Technical (JIO-II/Tech) 2025 recruitment on 01 January 2026. The online CBT exam was conducted on 15 October 2025 to fill 394 specialized technical vacancies. Candidates whose roll numbers are listed in the recently released merit list PDF have successfully qualified for the subsequent phases: the Skill Test (Tier-II) and the Personal Interview (Tier-III). Please note that this is the Tier-I shortlisting; the Final Result will be declared upon the completion of all selection stages. IB JIO Tech Selection Process (Path to Final Result)
The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance of the candidates across three tiers:
  • Tier-I (Online Exam): 100 MCQs (Mental Ability & Technical Subjects). (Cleared by candidates in the current result list).
  • Tier-II (Skill Test): A practical-based technical skill test commensurate with the job profile (30 Marks).
  • Tier-III (Interview): Personal Interview / Personality Test assessing overall suitability (20 Marks).
Final Selection is strictly based on the aggregate marks scored in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III combined. Tie-breaking rules will apply based on Tier-I scores, older age, or alphabetical order.
How to Check and Download IB JIO Tech Result 2025
  1. Visit the official Ministry of Home Affairs website at mha.gov.in.
  2. Scroll down to the "What's New" or "Vacancies" section on the homepage.
  3. Look for the notification titled "Result of Tier-I Exam for the post of JIO-II/Tech in IB - 2025".
  4. Clicking the link will download the official PDF file containing the Roll Numbers of shortlisted candidates.
  5. Open the PDF document, press Ctrl + F, and type your Roll Number to quickly check your qualifying status.
  6. If your roll number appears on the list, you are provisionally selected for the Tier-II Skill Test. Save and print the PDF for future reference.

IB JIO Tech Final Result 2025 : Important Questions
1. Question: Has the final result for IB JIO Tech 2025 been declared?
Answer: No, currently only the Tier-I written examination result has been released on 01 January 2026. The Final Result will be declared after the completion of the Skill Test and Interview.

2. Question: How can I check my individual marks or scorecard for Tier-I?
Answer: The IB currently releases the result as a PDF consisting of the roll numbers of shortlisted candidates. Individual scorecards and cut-off marks will be available later via the candidate login portal.

3. Question: What is the next stage for candidates who cleared the Tier-I exam?
Answer: Qualified candidates will be called for the Tier-II Skill Test (30 marks) and Tier-III Interview (20 marks). Details regarding the venue and dates will be intimated via registered Email/SMS.

4. Question: Are there any negative marks applied to the Tier-I exam score?
Answer: Yes, a negative marking of 1/4th (0.25 marks) was deducted for every incorrect response marked in the objective CBT exam.
