Educational qualification
For Constable Barber:
- Applicant must have passed 10th class and must have passed practical departmental examination in the profession.
For Constable (Safai Karamchari/Gardener) Posts:
- Candidates must have passed 10th class.
- Must have ITI qualification in relevant trade or two years Diploma from ITI in relevant trade.
- Additionally, candidates can also possess one year certificate from ITI or vocational institute along with minimum one year experience in the trade.
Age Range
For the posts of Constable (Barber/Sweeper):
- Interested candidates age should be between 18 to 25 years.
For the post of Constable (Gardener):
- The age limit required for those applying is between 18 to 23 years.
- Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for reserved categories candidates.

ITBP Constable Tradesman – Selection Process
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- During this stage, candidates will have to demonstrate their physical abilities through various activities like running, long jump, and high jump.
- Physical Standard Test (PST):
- Height, chest and weight measurements of the candidates successful in PET will be evaluated.
- Written exam:
- It will assess the general knowledge, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability and trade-specific knowledge of the candidates.
- Trade Test:
- This will assess the practical skills of the candidates and their proficiency in the specific trade they have applied for.
- Document Verification:
- Candidates have to attest their educational certificates, identity proof and other relevant documents.
- Medical Examination:
- Candidates must pass a medical examination and, if required, a review medical examination.
