• The age of the applicant should be between 17.5 to 23 years.
• Agniveer must have obtained minimum 45% aggregate marks and 33% marks in each subject in class 10th.
• In those boards which follow the grading system, Agniveer should have obtained minimum D grade in each subject and overall C2 grade.

• Agneepath scheme has been launched by the Government of India.
• Through this scheme, all the youth of the country who want to join the Indian Army can fulfill their dream.
• Through this scheme, recruitment will be done in large numbers in all three branches of the Indian Army, that is, Army, Navy and Air Force.

• The announcement of starting this scheme has been made by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the heads of the three branches of the Army.

Other benefits included in the package under Agneepath Yojana

• Total annual package – Rs 4.76 lakh in the first year and Rs 6.92 lakh in the fourth year.
• Allowances – Agniveer will be provided with all the allowances which are provided to the Army.
• Service Fund – Every Agniveer will have to contribute 30% of his monthly salary. An equal amount will also be contributed by the government. After completion of 4 years, Agniveer will be given an amount of Rs 11.71 lakh which will be free from income tax.
• Compensation on death – Firefighters will be provided non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 44 lakh. If Agniveer dies during service, then in this situation an additional ex-gratia amount of Rs 44 lakh will be provided. Apart from this, the unutilized portion of service fund component up to 4 years will be paid.
• Compensation in case of disability – Compensation will be provided on the basis of the percentage of disability determined by the medical authorities. A lump sum ex-gratia amount of Rs 44/25/15 lakh will be provided for disability.
• On completion of tenure – After completion of tenure, candidates can get service fund. Apart from this, certificate of skills acquired and provision of credit for higher education will also be made.

Recruitment in Indian Army under Agneepath Scheme

• The future of Agniveers is insecure - All those Agniveers who are willing to become entrepreneurs will be provided financial package and bank loan by the government. Those Agniveer who want to study further will be given a certificate before 12th and will be made to do a bridge course. Those citizens who are willing to get jobs will be provided job opportunities in central strong security forces and state police. Apart from this, many other sectors will also be opened for the fire fighters so that their future can be made secure.
• Youth will get less opportunities – All those citizens who become Agniveer will have increased opportunities to be recruited into strong military forces. 3 times more fire warriors will be recruited in the strong armed forces than the existing number.
• Regimental loyalty will be affected- No changes will be made in the regimental system by the Government of India. With the implementation of this scheme, the regimental system will become stronger because the best fire warriors will be selected here.
• The working capacity of the military forces will be affected - In most of the countries around the world, citizens of the country are recruited in the military forces for a short period. Only 3% of the total army force will be recruited by the government in the army in the first year. After this, after examining the performance of the Agniveers, they will be re-inducted into the army after 4 years. Through this system the army could get experienced soldiers.
• Underage soldiers will not be reliable – most armies around the world are young. With the operation of Agniveer Yojana, young and experienced senior officers will be included in the army in equal ratio.

Some important information related to Agneepath Yojana

• Fire warriors will be provided 30 annual leaves and sick leave as per medical advice in one year.
• Apart from this, medical facility will also be provided to Agniveer through service hospital.
• Agniveer will not be allowed to be released before the completion of the engagement period.
• This permission will be granted only in some exceptional cases with the approval of the competent authority.
• In this situation, only the contribution made by Agniveer will be provided in the amount of service fund. In which accrued interest will be included.
• Agniveer corpus fund will be created by the government.
• In which contribution will be made by Agniveer and the government.
• This amount will be provided to Agniveer after completion of 4 years.
• Agniveer is not required to contribute to any government PF.
• Apart from this, no kind of gratuity or pensionary benefit will be provided to Agniveer.

Discharge under Agneepath Scheme

• Agniveer will be retired after completion of 4 years.
• After retirement, the amount of service fund will be paid to Agniveer.
• Agniveer will not be provided any kind of pension or gratuity.
• Ex-Serviceman Contributory Health Scheme, Canteen Store Department Facility, Ex-Serviceman Status and other benefits provided to the Army will also not be provided to Agniveer.
• If Agniveer has made secret army information public or shared it with anyone, then action should be taken against Agniveer under the Official Secrets Act, 1923.

Some important information related to service fund package

• After completion of 4 years, a service fund package of Rs 10.04 lakh will be provided to the firefighters. In which equal contribution will be made by Agniveer and the government.
• If Agniveer is recruited permanently, then in that case only the amount of his contribution will be given to Agniveer.
• If Agniveer resigns before the completion of the period, then in this situation only the contribution deposited by him will be provided.
• Service fund package is income tax exempt.
• Dearness allowance and military service pay will not be provided to Agniveer.
• Only risk and hardship, ration, dress and travel allowance will be provided to Agniveer.
• If Agniveer joins the army after passing 10th class, then after serving 4 years, he will be given a certificate of passing 12th class.

• No separate model will be followed for selection under this scheme.
• Fire warriors will be selected just like the selection is done in the army till now.
• Army selection centers are located all over the country.
• Fire warriors will be selected through these centres .

Terms and Conditions of Agneepath Scheme

• Under Agneepath Yojana, citizens will be appointed for 4 years.
• The appointed citizens will be given a separate rank.
• After completion of 4 years, Agniveer can get permanent enrolment.
• About 25% of Agniveers will be appointed.
• In case of permanent enrolment, the eligibility of Agniveer will be examined as per the existing rules of the Army.
• This year 46000 fire warriors will be appointed.
• Enrollment under this scheme will be done through online centralized system, rally and campus interview.
• Enrollment will be done on the basis of all India all classes.
• The minimum age to apply under this scheme is 17.5 years and maximum age is 21 years.
• Under this scheme, the minimum educational qualification has been fixed at 10th class.
