Convocation ceremony at CCS University, Meerut: Governor said - Beggars asking for dowry, do not give daughters to such families
CCSU UNIVERSITY Meerut News: After awarding gold medals to the daughters in the 35th convocation of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Chancellor and Governor Anandiben Patel said that those who demand dowry are beggars. Do not marry daughters in such families. Referring to the incident of burning of the daughter-in-law in Noida when her demand for a scooter was not met, she called upon the families who demand dowry to flatly refuse to marry her. Tell the parents that the family which is demanding like beggars now, what else will they demand in future.
Stop discrimination between sons and daughters.
Addressing the parents, the Governor said that they should stop discrimination between sons and daughters. It is wrong to send daughters to government schools and sons to private schools by paying huge fees. If parents themselves discriminate like this then what can we expect from the society. He said that the gold medals won in CCSU show how far ahead the daughters are today. Sons study with the aim of taking their father's business forward, while daughters have to go to their in-laws' house, hence they study harder, so that if any calamity comes in the future, they can become self-reliant.
Society and country should not forget.
Referring to the case of murder of six people in a fight over land between two families in the state, the Governor said that the society needs to come out of such acts. Addressing the youth, the Governor said that after being successful, one should not forget the society and the country. Giving the example of Ratan Tata, he said that the group gives the maximum donations in the world.
Meerut, the birthplace of Major Dhyan Chand,
the Chancellor said that Meerut and the surrounding area is an important part of our culture. Apart from being associated with Ramayana and Mahabharata, this area is also the place of one of the Panj Pyaras. The freedom struggle started from here and reached the entire country. These should be included in higher education and the young generation should be told about them and also taught. He said that Meerut, the birthplace of Major Dhyan Chand, is now bringing glory to the country in sports also.
