➢ Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is tasked with securing the Line of 

Actual Control with China, has established its first mountain warfare training facility in northeast India and its second overall. The facility was built nearly 50 years after the founding of the first institution of its kind, the Mountaineering and Skiing Institute (M&SI), which opened in Auli, near 

Joshimath, in 1973–74.

➢ Rajnath Singh, Minister of defence, to improve coordination between the 

armed forces, announced the creation of unified theatre commands of three services. India is fast transitioning from being the world’s top importer of defence equipment to an exporter. The defence minister was

➢ A Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) was conducted between Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and Indian Navy in the Andaman Sea. INS Sukanya, an offshore patrol vessel and JS Samidare, a Murasame 

class destroyer, undertook various exercises including seamanship activities, aircraft operations and tactical manoeuvres as part of the operational interaction.

➢ Tata Advanced Systems successfully delivered the locally developed Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle to the Indian Army. These armoured vehicles will increase the nation’s protector’s ability to fight in all weather and terrain situations and will offer protection while moving.

➢ The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), observed its 84th Raising Day on 27 July 2022. The day celebrates the immense and unparalleled V contribution of the force in upholding the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation. CRPF is India’s largest Central Armed Police Force, which 

operates under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

➢ Egypt and an Indian company have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to construct a green hydrogen factory in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, according to a cabinet announcement. The MoU states that Indian ReNew Power Private Limited (RENE.BO) will invest $8 billion to construct a facility that will create 20,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.

multipurpose helicopters to the Indian Navy. All 24 MH 60R helicopters will be delivered by the end of 2025. Under its Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme, the US Department of State has authorised the sale of  24 MH-60R multimission helicopters to India.

➢ Indian Navy's indigenous Frigate INS Satpura & P8I aircraft are taking part in the 28th edition of the biennial Rim of Pacific (RIMPAC-22), the world's largest international maritime exercise. They are taking part in the harbour phase of the exercise at Pearl Harbour in the US. INS Satpura reached Hawaii on 27 Jun '22 while P8I aircraft arrived on 02 Jul '22 to take 

part in the exercise.

➢ As part of their deployment to South East Asia, Indian Naval Ships Sahyadri and Kadmatt, visited Singapore from 1-3 Jul'22. INS Sahyadri is an indigenously built multirole stealth Frigate and INS Kadmatt is an indigenously built ASW Corvette. The IN crew participated in professional interactions with the Singapore Navy (RSN) towards enhancing mutual cooperation and interoperability.

➢ IIT Madras researchers have developed a revolutionary method that can identify a person’s cancer-causing genes. Based on patient DNA profiles, the “Pivot,” an AI-based tool, will help clinicians create individualised treatment programmes for patients. The tool is built on a machine learning model that classifies genes into cancer-preventing tumour suppressors, 

oncogenes that cause cancer, and neutral genes.

➢ US President Joe Biden has released one of the James Webb Space Telescope’s first images in a preview event at the White House in Washington. This first image from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope 

is the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe to date. Known as Webb’s First Deep Field, this image of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 is overflowing with detail. Thousands of galaxies including the

➢ The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved the market authorization of India’s first quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus vaccine (qHPV) against cervical cancer. The Serum Institute of India (SII) will produce this vaccine.

➢ 19-year-old Jahnavi Dangeti has scripted history by becoming the youngest to complete the Analog Astronaut programme from the Analog Astronaut Training Centre (AATC) at Krakow in South Poland.

She has completed the two-week training programme (June 14 to 25) at the AATC, a private agency set up by European Space professionals to carry out spaceflight scientific studies.

➢ The Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) has successfully launched 342 foreign satellites from 34 countries since 1999 on a 

commercial basis and will generate roughly 132 Million Euros.

➢ Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur has launched “NIRMAN” Accelerator Programme, supported by the department of science and technology, the government of India. The programme will 

focus on the manufacturing startups engaged in healthcare and agriculture

➢ European Commission has given permission for the Imvanex vaccine to 

be marketed as protection against Monkeypox, as recommended by the 

European Medicines Agency (EMA). Globally, over 16,000 cases of monkeypox have been reported from 75 countries. This vaccine is 

developed by Danish biotechnology company Bavarian Nordic.

➢ Monkeypox: NIV successfully isolates virus strain. Monkeypox virus has been for the first time isolated in India by the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune. NIV works under Indian Council for Medical Research- ICMR.Genomic sequence of the Indian strains has 99.85 percent match with the West African Strains circulating globally. Monkeypox is an acute viral disease and its symptoms are fever, Lymph node enlargement, etc.

IIBX is India’s first international bullion exchange. The exchange, which was announced in Budget 2020, will sell physical gold and silver. The exchange will be open for jewellers with a net worth of Rs 25 crore and above to participate.

not attract GST.

➢ The Ladakh Festival Kargil 2022 was inaugurated in Ladakh by CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan at Khree Sultan Chow Stadium in Bemathang Kargil.

(HRTC) buses to women commuters within the state boundaries. Seema Thakur, the first woman bus driver in the state, drove him in a state transport bus to the event venue. 

The chief minister had announced the 50 per cent concession on bus fares to women on April 15, Himachal Day.

➢ The Rajasthan government is soon likely to introduce in the Assembly the Right to Health Bill, “the first of its kind in India”, which aims to commit to quality and affordable health care services through government and private health care providers.

➢ The Western Railway’s (WR) longest skywalk from the Khar Road railway station to the nearby Bandra Terminus has been opened for the passengers to reach the platforms to board trains easily. The skywalk spans 314 meters long and is 4.4 meters wide. Western Railway’s noted that the skywalk will allow passengers to reach Bandra (T) directly by deboarding at Khar station & taking south Foot Over Bridge.

➢ The Tripura government has launched a new scheme named ‘Earn with Learn’ to bring back those who had dropped out of schools following the outbreak of Covid-19. This scheme is a part of the ‘Vidyalaya Chalo Abhiyan’ (Let’s go to school).

➢ Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to initiate the process of implementing the Centre’s New Education Policy. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has initiated this process by inaugurating ‘Bal Vatikas’ at Anganwadi Kendra across the state to strengthen the pre-primary education system.

➢ The first case of monkeypox was confirmed in India after a person who had returned to Kerala from UAE developed symptoms of the disease. His samples were sent to National Virology Institute in Pune which confirmed the disease. It was first found in monkeys in 1958.

➢ WHO declares “Monkeypox” a global health emergency. It came at the end of the second meeting of the WHO's emergency committee on the virus.

• The classification is the highest alert that the WHO can issue and follows a worldwide 

upsurge in cases. 

• More than 16,000 cases have now been reported from 75 countries. 

➢ The e-FIR service and the Uttarakhand police app were introduced by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. 

➢ Kerala is now the first and only state in the country to have its own internet service, 

according to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The announcement followed the Department of Telecommunications’ granting of an Internet Service Provider (ISP) licence to the IT infrastructure project of the Kerala Fiber Optic Network Ltd (K-Fon), which aims to provide everyone in the state access to the internet.

➢ According to the chief ministers of both states, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh have 

taken a step toward settling their seven-decade-old boundary dispute by signing the Namsai Declaration. Following their third round of discussions on the matter, the Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu and his Assam colleague Himanta Biswa Sarma signed the declaration in Namsai.

➢ Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched ‘SwanirbharNaari’, a scheme to empower indigenous weavers in Assam’s Guwahati. The state government will procure handloom items directly from indigenous weavers via a web portal under the scheme. The scheme will help in preserving the heritage of handlooms and textiles in the state.

➢ Himachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to connect all registered 

commercial vehicles equipped with Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) with Emergency Response Support System (ERSS). Now, these vehicles can be tracked anywhere in the country through VLTD.

➢ Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh, popularly known as the ‘Darwaza of Dakhin’,

became the first Certified ‘Har Ghar Jal’ district in the Country. Only district in the country, people from each of 254 villages in Burhanpur have declared their villages as ‘Har Ghar Jal’ through a resolution passed by Gram Sabhas. Accordingly, it certifies that all people in the villages have access to safe drinking water through taps, ensuring that ‘No One is Left Out’.

➢ Kerala government has made the decision to start initiatives to promote full digital literacy in the State. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while addressing a school programme in Thiruvananthapuram explained that the campaign aims to educate people, particularly youngsters, about the dangers and traps online.

➢ Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar has launched an app-based ‘Smart E-Beat’ system for police attendance and real-time monitoring of patrolling by personnel in Gurugram. 

➢ The Kerala government is all set to come up with an alternative to the popular corporate online cab service by launching its own e-taxi service next month, considered to be the first such initiative by any state government in the country. The service named ‘Kerala Savari’, the online taxi hiring service is being rolled out by the state. This is for the first time that a state government is launching an online taxi service in the country.

➢ Tamil Nadu government has issued an order to implement the first phase of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme at 1,545 government primary schools for the benefit of over 1.14 lakh children in Classes I-V during 2022-23.

➢ Pranay Kumar Verma, an experienced diplomat and IFS official from the 1994 batch, has been chosen to serve as India’s next High Commissioner to Bangladesh. He is currently the ambassador of India to Vietnam. The Delhi-based Ministry of External Affairs made this announcement. Vikram Doraiswami, the current High Commissioner of India to the UK, is rumoured to be taking over, thus he is expected to start the job soon in his stead.

Through short films, messages, and booklets, the chariots will visit all of the districts to educate people about the legal protections for women and their constitutional rights.
